A note to staff from the CATS team:
The Coaching and Training Services team are always on the lookout for opportunities to have some fun whilst teaching and have found an ideal occasion.
Friday 20 November is Children in Need 2009 and we’ve got a series of seminars set up to share some skills and knowledge (and dress up in fancy dress) and give (aka ‘sell’) you some cakes. (Yes, we even have permission from central timetabling for you to eat cake in the lecture theatres!)
We hope to raise loads of cash for the appeal. But we also believe there’ll be some really useful, practical and relevant IT skills you can take away from the sessions.
So come join and the Tall Bearded Training Lady, The Evil Excel Jester and Wing Commander Towers as we take you on a tour of:
– The shortcut to shortcuts
– The magic of Excel pivot tables
– Get the picture working with images
– Get animated about PowerPoint
– Improve your outlook on Outlook
– Chart your success with Excel
– A thesis on Word – A word on theses
– Bring it on – free for all
Each session will give plenty of opportunity for interaction and questions (and retail opportunities to ‘buy’ cakes & documentation).
You can find more details on each session and a booking form on our webpages at www.southampton.ac.uk/isolutions/training
Booking is not mandatory but will be helpful for us to assess demand.
We look forward to seeing you next week,
The CATS team
