The University will open as usual tomorrow (Tuesday 12 January) and? barring unpredicted weather conditions? will be open for the rest of the week.

This has been made possible by our gritting contractor who has imported enough grit and salt directly into BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 to give us confidence that we can? if necessary? grit for the rest of the week.

I understand that many staff and students will have been inconvenienced by this closure. However? we cannot open in circumstances where the risks associated with moving around the campuses are unacceptably high. BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 assessment on Friday was that without supplies of grit or salt we could not treat paths after the weekend, and in these weather conditions untreated paths posed an unacceptable risk. Happily? given that we can now treat the paths, the risks are manageable and the University can reopen.
