Undeterred by the weather, participants of all ages took part in our annual celebration of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载’s biodiversity this month.

The event included a mini-seminar series, late night cinema, guided walks and a BioBlitz audit across Highfield Campus and BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Common.

MRes Advanced Biological Sciences student Jake Weeks was also on hand to introduce families to a number of animals, including a 7-foot albino Burmese python called Monte. Jake owns his own business specialising in reptiles, The Reptile Academy, as well as studying here at BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载. Jake said:

“It’s always a pleasure to take part in events that are centred around conservation and biodiversity. We hope that the educational experience we delivered with our exotic species, many of which are rescue animals, inspired budding herpetologists.”

A team from Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre attended the BioBlitz and formally recorded?a record number of?plant and wildlife?observations. Keep an eye on the Sustainability Twitter and Facebook pages over the next few weeks and we’ll share some of their insights.
