Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025

Neurodiversity Celebration Week (17 to 23 March) aims to raise awareness and acceptance of people who experience the world differently. The term neurodivergent includes people who are autistic, or have ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome, dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.

Neurodivergent Staff and PGR Social Meeting

The Disability and Neurodivergence Staff Network invite neurodivergent staff and PGRs to join them for an informal social event on Monday 10 March 13:00-14:00. Please email Libby Barton via E.F.Barton@soton.ac.uk to register for this event.

Neurodivergent Staff and PGR Safe Listening Space?

Staff and PGRs who identify as neurodivergent are invited to join a Safe Listening Space on 27 March 13:00-14:00. This is an online confidential session where attendees can share lived experiences with other neurodivergent staff and PGRs. Click here to register for the Safe Listening Space.

Faculty of Medicine slide surgery drop-in session

This session will be held on Monday 17 March, 10.00-14.00 in AA7a, Health Sciences Library, SGH. Bring along your teaching and/or research resources, including PowerPoint slides, for one-to-one advice on how to adapt them for greater accessibility and inclusivity. Learn simple tips, tricks and tools. You do not need to register for this event,? just come along.

Understanding and Valuing Neurodiversity talk by Dr Carlos Hoyas

Dr Hoyas is an award-winning Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with expertise in neurodiversity. The talk will be held on Friday 21 March, 13.00-14.00 in LF9, SGH, and is open to all students and staff.? To attend this talk either in person or online, please register. For those attending online, a link to join will be circulated the day before the event.

The Library’s neurodivergent reading list

Explore the Library’s curated reading list which covers a variety of subjects, such as Autism, Neurodivergent women and girls, ADHD, Tourette’s and many more. The list also features TV shows and podcasts which have been recommended by neurodivergent staff members.
