The Home Office announced UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) changes to fees and a new Skilled Worker absolute minimum salary threshold, all from 9 April 2025.
Visa Application Fee Increase
UK visa application fees will increase across visa types, including:
- Skilled Worker visa
- Student visa
- Graduate visa
- Government Authorised Exchange visa
- Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement)
- Naturalisation as a British Citizen
- Visitor visa
The new fees are published and are available via Home Office immigration and nationality fees: 9 April 2025 – GOV.UK
Employer Sponsorship Fee Increase
Hiring/managing departments need to be aware that the Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) fee for Skilled Worker and Government Authorised Exchange visa routes have will also increase:
- Skilled Worker ?525 per COS
- Government Authorised Exchange ?55 per COS
Absolute Salary Threshold Minimum – Skilled Worker
Individuals who hold a Skilled Worker visa which was issued under the rules in place before 4 April 2024 have lower salary thresholds for ‘General Salary’ and ‘Going Rate’ (salary threshold per job type).? The absolute ‘General Salary’ threshold minimum, which is currently ?23,200 per year, will change to ?25,000 per year.
