April is Stress Awareness Month and the staff wellbeing team has been continuing with their Address the Stress campaign to improve understanding around the impact of stress and what the University is doing to support staff.??
As part of the campaign, the staff wellbeing team will be visiting campuses for their annual stress roadshow from Wednesday 30 April. They’ll be in catering outlets ready to speak to staff who want to talk about stress and there’ll be the chance to win prizes. You can find out dates and locations for the roadshow here.?
Frequent stress is a hazard to your health. It can feel overwhelming but there are ways to reduce and manage stress to lessen its impact. The staff wellbeing team deliver a range of training around stress and recently launched an improved process for workplace stress assessments.??
According to survey data from Ciphr, the overwhelming majority (79%) of UK adults feel stressed at least one day a month and 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
We live in stressful times and colleagues may already have their own ways of handling stress but the University is here to support you and direct you to resources that you might find helpful. How we reduce and manage stress can make a big difference to our physical and mental wellbeing and this stage of the campaign is about how we can reduce the frequency of stress in the workplace and support our people.??
