University’s Technician Commitment submission receives Impact Award

The?Technician Commitment is a sector-wide initiative that brings together universities and research institutions to tackle the key challenges faced by technical staff. In 2025, we renewed our status as a signatory by completing our 3 stage self-assessment and action plan, highlighting our commitment to supporting our invaluable technical staff.

In recognition of our submission, the Technician Commitment has presented the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 with an Award of Impact.

The submission captures our progress in enhancing the visibility, recognition, career development, and sustainability of our technical community, who play a crucial role in the success of our institution.

The panel praised the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载’s previous action plan for its significant positive impact on technical staff, noting initiatives like the Inclusive recruitment programme, efforts to address casualisation and our ambitious action plan and strong vision for the technical community.

Michael Butler, Chair of the Technical Commitment Implementation Group (TCIG), said: “I’m delighted with the very positive feedback on our Technicians Commitment submission and the Impact Award. Thanks to all the members of the TCIG for their contributions to the delivery of the previous action plan and preparation of the submission. Particular thanks to Sonia Gomez Del Castillo for such effective project management and the EDI team for support with drafting the renewal submission.”
