British Science Festival 2026 briefing session: how colleagues can take part

Colleagues are invited to join a briefing session about how they can take part in demonstrating our cutting-edge research and innovation at the British Science Festival (BSF) 2026 which is being hosted by the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载.

The session will take place online on Wednesday 14 May at 15:30 to 16:30 and you can join using this Teams link.

The BSF is Europe’s longest standing science festival, travelling to a different location in the United Kingdom each year, and will take place in BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 between the 16 – 20 September next year. It will comprise of approximately 100 free events, exhibitions, performances and installations that celebrate the people, stories and ideas at the heart of science. The programme is aimed at an audience that is predominantly 16 to 34 years old, and who have a broad interest in science but don’t actively seek to engage with it.

The briefing session will be hosted by Dr Ben Littlefield, Head of Public Engagement, Research & Innovation Services and James Brown, Head of Festivals, British Science Association and will cover the following areas:

  • Overall aims and objectives of the Festival
  • Examples of activities
  • Themes being sought
  • How to submit proposals to the various calls
  • Timelines and next steps

Professor Mark Spearing,?Vice-President for Research & Enterprise, says:

The session will be recorded, and the details hosted on a dedicated SharePoint page hosted by the Public Engagement with Research unit after the briefing has been held.
