The Student Experience Awards 2025

On Wednesday 11 June, we hosted the 2025 Student Experience Awards ceremony in collaboration with SUSU.

Attended by shortlisted nominees, as well as members of staff from both the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 and SUSU, it was a celebratory evening to recognise, reward and celebrate students and societies who have gone above and beyond their academic studies to contribute to our shared culture?and values.

Congratulations to all of our winners, as well as those who were nominated or shortlisted for an award—our community wouldn’t be the same without you.

The Winners

One BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Award – Maddy Nicholl

For her profound impact on the legal plane of the entirety of Hampshire, including recruiting 150 students to the Pro Bono Committee within the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Legal Clinic, and personally dedicating over 350 hours of support to the service.

SUSU Recognition Award – Amy Moir

For her enormous dedication to supporting the development of activities at SUSU, including lobbying for better support, access, and training, as well as spearheading initiatives that have resulted in over ?65,000 being donated to charity as president of the Raise and Give society.

For their outstanding ‘WonkyBowl’ and ‘Seeds for Thought’ initiatives, which demonstrate how the connections made at university, and student unions, can evolve and grow to be true forces for good, directly impacting the lives of people in the local community, and beyond.

Committee Member of the Year – Yaviin Jayasoma

For his work as a deeply inclusive, adaptable and committed leader of the Engineers Without Borders BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Society, growing the community from fewer than 10 official members to 56 within a single year.

Student Ambassador of the Year – Isobel Buck

For her incredible leadership mentoring sixteen of her peer Residence Life Assistants, as well as her courage in identifying opportunities for improvement within the wider Student Experience and Engagement directorate.

Sustainability Champion Award – Enactus BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载

For their ‘Seeds for Thought’ initiative, which provided over 50 mini hydroponic kits, and a 6-week learning programme, to local primary schools, educating over 90 children on sustainability, healthy eating and food systems, and saving? over 800 kilograms of carbon dioxide and over 3,000 litres of water.

Wellbeing and Inclusivity Champion Award – Ashpreet Gill

For her comprehensive commitment to wellbeing and inclusion, including her work as Pre-Clinical Representative for the South Asian Medical Society, bridging the gap between medicine and those belonging to marginalised communities.

Fundraiser of the Year – BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Marrow

For their work in raising over ?3,000 for Anthony Nolan, and increasing donor sign-ups within the student community—work that has the potential to fund 75 potential donors on the stem cell register, or 100 hours of post-transplant nursing for a patient.

Student Enterprise Award – Jamie Horsnell and Samuel Aaron

For their outstanding drive, determination, and enterprise in following the University’s entrepreneurial pathway to secure ?250,000 of investment for their AI start-up—the highest sum ever invested in a start-up founded by undergraduates at our university.
