Speaker: Prof. Rosana Pinheiro-Machado (University College Dublin)
Event details
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Rosana Pinheiro-Machado as the keynote speaker for the Centre for Political Ethnography Workshop: “Doing Ethnography in Political Contexts or Doing Politics via Ethnography?” Prof. Pinheiro-Machado’s talk — “Rage, Dreams, and Insubordination: How the Far Right and Social Media Mobilize the Working Class” — draws on years of ethnographic research in Brazil to explore how affect, aspiration, and digital infrastructure shape new forms of right-wing political subjectivity.
The lecture is part of the CPE’s annual workshop on interpretive and ethnographic methods in politics.
