Centre for People, Property and Community Hosts Research Workshop

On Saturday 16th March 2024, the Centre for People, Property and Community organised a collaborative research workshop with BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Tenants Union that explored how the housing crisis had become an everyday feature of life for students and other renters in BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 and other cities across the UK.
The event brought together housing activists, students, tenants, housing law academics and practitioners to discuss key aspects of the housing crisis in BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 and tenants' housing rights in relation to 'no fault' evictions, student housing, repair and housing conditions, licencing of rented housing, rent repayment orders and the Renters Reform Bill.
The workshop represents part of a wider knowledge exchange, public engagement and research project co-ordinated by Dr Mark Jordan alongside fellow Law School scholar Professor Helen Carr and builds on Dr Jordan and Prof Carr’s work as Expert Advisors to BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 City Council’s Scrutiny Inquiry into the Private Rented Sector in the city (2023-24). The workshop was kindly funded in 2024 by the Centre for the South, New Things Fund.
