Leadership
Director
Fraser is a Professor of Archaeology who specialises in maritime prehistory but applies his expertise and skills to a wide range of interdisciplinary problems and projects. He addresses complex social questions by generating, integrating, and analysing data from multiple sources, often within a geospatial framework. His research increasingly includes contemporary topics such as environmental impact assessment and evaluation or civic and community focused initiatives.
Deputy Directors
Susan is a Professor of Offshore Geotechnical Engineering and Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies – Intelligent & Resilient Ocean Engineering (IROE). Her research addresses technology gaps at each stage of the engineered life cycle of ocean structures and incorporates the intelligence of sensing, robotics, and autonomy to develop next generation resilient engineered systems that will be key to progress in reaching Net Zero.
Blair is a Professor of Marine Autonomy whose research focuses on robotic sensing, autonomy and intelligent data processing to support subsea marine survey and inspection. He leads Ocean Perception within the Maritime Robotics and Instrumentation Lab, and holds an adjunct position at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo.
Julian is a Professor of Physical Geography whose research focuses on sediment dynamics in fluvial, coastal and deltaic environments. He uses acoustic methods, LiDAR and advanced Earth observation techniques to understand river-to-ocean systems and how people interact with them. He is also Director of Environmental Sensing at BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 (ES@S)
